Chapter Reading: Revelation 1 | Verse of the Day: Revelation 1:3
Podcast: Footsteps of the Messiah | Series: The Beginning of the End | Episode Title: Episode 2 — “Blessed Are Those Who Study Prophecy” | Episode Verse: Revelation 1:3
Most blessings in life are conditional. “Blessed are the early risers,” says your productivity coach. “Blessed are the planners,” says your calendar.
But Revelation opens with a blessing just for reading it. No timeline chart required.
“Blessed is he who reads and those who hear the words of the prophecy and keep the things which are written in it; for the time is near.” — Revelation 1:3
Christian’s journey is shaped by what he’s read in the Book. That’s why he runs from Destruction—because he knows what’s coming. And Revelation, for all its mystery, is a book that blesses the reader.
Why? Because it shows us Christ as Victor, the Church in glory, and evil defeated for good.
We’re not called to decode every symbol, but to keep what’s written. The blessing is in the believing, the obeying, and the watching.
So if you’ve avoided Revelation because it feels intimidating, start with this promise: Read it. You’ll be blessed.
Application
- Read Revelation 1 aloud today. What stands out?
- Write down what this prophecy shows you about Jesus, not just the end times.
- Ask: How can I live ready, not just curious?
In Episode 2 of Footsteps of the Messiah, we explore why prophecy blesses the believer—and how to approach it with joy, not fear. Listen at ShoeLeatherGospel.com.
Closing Prayer
Lord, give me eyes to see what You’ve revealed—and a heart that watches, waits, and walks faithfully.
Prophecy isn’t spooky—it’s hopeful. Read it with your eyes open and your heart ready.
