Chapter: Proverbs 24 | Verse: Proverbs 15:16
Success stories often come with numbers, but heaven measures differently. According to Solomon, a little—with the fear of the Lord—is better than a lot without Him. That’s not downsizing. That’s divine perspective.
“Better is a little with the fear of Yahweh Than great treasure and turmoil with it.” — Proverbs 15:16, LSB
Proverbs 24 is full of advice for builders—of homes, lives, and legacies. But Proverbs 15:16 gives us the heart behind it all: the fear of the Lord is better than a fortune full of stress.
That flies in the face of everything the world says. Bigger is better. More is meaningful. But God says: peace with Me is better than possessions without Me.
Sometimes we chase upgrades that downgrade our worship. But the humble life, reverently lived before God, carries a wealth this world can’t offer and never takes away.
Where have you been chasing “more” at the cost of peace?
- Name one area where you can practice contentment today.
- Meditate on Proverbs 15:16 when comparison creeps in.
- Ask God to renew your awe for Him more than for gain.
Every episode of Walking with God calls us back to what matters most: fearing God, walking humbly, and living wisely. No shortcuts. No hype. Just truth that anchors.
Closing Prayer
Father, teach me to love little—with reverence—more than riches without rest.
