Walking It Out: The Theology Behind Our Vision Statement

Vision Statement:

To equip believers to walk faithfully, think biblically, and live for Christ’s glory in every sphere of life.

At Shoe Leather Gospel, our vision isn’t just a slogan—it’s a summary of the Christian life as revealed in Scripture. This vision flows directly from the Great Commission Matthew 28:19–20, the call to walk in holiness (Micah 6:8), and the mandate to love God with all our heart, soul, mind, and strength Mark 12:30. Our aim is not to offer inspiration without direction, or knowledge without transformation. Instead, we seek to form disciples who embody truth in their everyday lives.

1. “Walk Faithfully” — The Path of Obedience

To “walk faithfully” echoes a rich biblical metaphor. Enoch walked with God Genesis 5:24, Israel was called to walk in His ways (Deut 10:12), and Paul urged believers to walk in a manner worthy of the Lord (Col 1:10).

Walking implies steady, daily obedience. It’s not a sprint of zeal or a theological detour—it’s a persevering lifestyle rooted in the character of God. Faithful walking means:

• Living under the authority of Scripture (2 Tim 3:16)

• Pursuing holiness and integrity (1 Thess 4:1–3)

• Walking by the Spirit, not the flesh (Gal 5:16)

In a distracted and disoriented world, faithful walking keeps believers rooted in Christ and responsive to His Word.

2. “Think Biblically” — The Renewal of the Mind

Romans 12:2 commands us: “Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind.”Thinking biblically is not merely knowing Bible verses, but developing a worldview shaped by Scripture, not culture.

This involves:

• Learning sound doctrine (Titus 2:1)

• Embracing God’s wisdom over worldly philosophies (Col 2:8)

• Loving God with all our mind (Mark 12:30)

Biblical thinking helps us discern truth from error, navigate cultural confusion, and filter every decision through God’s revealed will.

3. “Live for Christ’s Glory” — The Purpose of All Things

The ultimate goal of the Christian life is not self-fulfillment but Christ’s exaltation. Paul writes in 1 Corinthians 10:31, “Whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God.”

Living for Christ’s glory means:

• Bearing fruit that honors Him (John 15:8)

• Making disciples of all nations (Matt 28:19–20)

• Enduring with hope and faithfulness (2 Cor 4:17)

It also means resisting compartmentalization. Every sphere of life—work, family, rest, service, suffering—is a context for worship. Christ is not Lord of some; He is Lord of all (Col 1:18).

How the Vision Connects to Our Mission

If our vision is the destination, our mission is the road map:

We put shoe leather on the Gospel by helping believers know Christ deeply, grow in biblical truth, and go into the world equipped to live for His glory.

The mission gives the practical how:

• Know Christ → fuels walking faithfully

• Grow in truth → empowers thinking biblically

• Go live the Gospel → expresses living for Christ’s glory

Everything we teach—whether through podcast, devotional, or course—aims to move truth from the page to the path.

How the Vision Is Lived Out Through Our Core Values (W.A.L.K.E.R.S.)

Our seven core values give theological structure to our vision:

• Word of God → fuels faithful walking and biblical thinking

• Abiding in Christ → empowers obedience and intimacy

• Life Application → moves knowledge to action

• Kingdom Perspective → orients us to eternal glory

• Engagement with Culture → applies truth publicly

• Rooted Theology → trains the mind in truth

• Spirit-Driven Growth → transforms the heart and habits

The W.A.L.K.E.R.S. framework ensures that our vision isn’t abstract or aspirational—it’s lived.

Conclusion: Vision That Walks

Our vision is simple: walk, think, live—all for Christ. It is theological in substance, practical in expression, and doxological in aim. We want to be disciples who don’t just know the truth but walk it out—with joy, conviction, and courage.

So lace up. There’s Gospel ground to cover.
