About Chris Reighley

Founder, Teacher, and Voice of Shoe Leather Gospel

Hi, I’m Chris Reighley—Bible teacher, husband, dad, chaplain, and the guy behind Shoe Leather Gospel.

I didn’t set out to launch a ministry. I just wanted to be faithful. Over the years, that desire has taken me from disaster relief zones and pulpit ministry to seminary classrooms and podcast microphones—all with one goal: helping believers walk out a biblical worldview with clarity, conviction, and grace.

I’ve spent more than a decade teaching the Bible—both in churches and small groups, and now through podcasts, courses, and online discipleship. I’m an ordained chaplain, trained to walk with people through crisis and call them to Christ with compassion and truth. My teaching is shaped by pastoral experience, academic study, and a deep love for Scripture as the final authority in life and doctrine.

I’m currently pursuing an M.A. in Biblical Studies at Redemption Seminary and an Executive Master of Public Service and Administration at Texas A&M’s Bush School. I also completed the Colson Fellows Program, which sharpened my ability to apply Scripture to culture, ethics, and leadership. My theological foundation is unapologetically biblical, classically theistic, dispensational, and reformed.

At the core of my ministry is a deep conviction: the Bible is sufficient, clear, authoritative, and utterly life-giving. That’s why I started Shoe Leather Gospel—to combat biblical illiteracy and help Christians walk out their faith with intellectual confidence and relational wisdom. Whether you’re tuning in to a podcast, studying a doctrine series, or reading one of our articles, my prayer is that you’ll grow to love God’s Word more and trust Him deeper.

I live in Bryan, Texas, with my wife Melody, and we’re proud parents of two adult kids—both Aggies. In addition to teaching and writing, I serve in leadership and strategic communication roles and remain active in disaster relief.

Thanks for walking this road with me. Let’s keep putting shoe leather on the gospel—step by step.
