Riches with Righteousness

Chapter: Proverbs 19 | Verse: Proverbs 11:4

Money can buy a lot—but not everything. When death knocks, your portfolio stays behind. Solomon’s point? If all you’ve gained is wealth—you’ve gained nothing.

“Riches do not profit in the day of wrath, But righteousness delivers from death.” — Proverbs 11:4, LSB

Proverbs 19 reminds us of what truly matters: character, integrity, and the fear of the Lord. It rebukes the folly of laziness and the emptiness of chasing riches without righteousness.

And Proverbs 11:4 hits like thunder: riches won’t save you. Righteousness will.

This doesn’t mean poverty is holy—but it does mean eternity puts wealth in perspective. If your treasure isn’t rooted in Christ, it will rot. But if your treasure is in Him, your heart—and your future—are secure.

Solomon says it plain: invest in what lasts. And nothing lasts longer than righteousness.

Where are you investing most of your energy—earthly or eternal things?

  • Examine your goals. Are they kingdom-driven or self-driven?
  • Recommit to giving generously, living simply, and seeking first the kingdom.
  • Let righteousness—not revenue—be your bottom line.

Our podcasts teaches biblical wisdom for everyday life—but always with eternity in view. Walking with God isn’t just about now—it’s about forever. Walk with us into what truly lasts.

Closing Prayer

God, let my life be rich in righteousness. Keep me from trusting in anything but You.
